The grouped bar chart compares how many different formats of films, VHS, DVD, and Blue-ray were annually sold and rented from a particular shop. Data is shown from 2002 to 2011.

Overall, While the total number of rentals went down dramatically, DVD sales had a considerable upward trend. Additionally, the sales of VHS were downward and finally no longer sold in 2005, a new item called Blue-ray instead was initially traded from 2007.

In detail, there were only 48,000 DVDs sold in 2002, which was the least compared with other categories; However, it climbed significantly, surpassed both rentals and VHS, and reached a peak of over 200,000 sold DVDs in 2007. Conversely, rentals went through a serious decline, starting with the highest value of nearly 175,000 in 2002, but it leveled off and slipped to second place in 2011, at only 53,000.
