Katanas were being used in the dojo, which was built surrounded by ornamental trees grown using the art of bonsai. There were two samurai’s training, Gouenji was one of the two. He had always wished to become a samurai during his youth. He worked hard for it since then. He learned kendo and bushido, which were important concepts that samurais had to develop, at a very young age.
The door of the dojo was swung open and their training stopped abruptly. This was not the first time the emperor’s messenger had arrived. Just as always, he had brought them some news from the emperor. The messenger held a makimono and revealed what it stated. Before leaving he stated once again, “Shuuya Gouenji, the emperor summons you, you ought to be there in time”. As soon as the messenger left, Gouenji decked up and stepped outside. He, as always, strolled around pondering as to why the emperor had summoned him, when suddenly he caught a glimpse of a geisha slipping into his dojo. Gouenji rushed inside but she was nowhere to be seen.
