Irie is a woman in her twenties,she is a half-Jamaican and half-English with black curls hair curved in African follicles. She is in love with a man from an Indian family.The man she adores, unfortunately worships English women.So, she decides to change the shape and colour of her hair.

Hairdressers are usually using ammonia to make the hair straight. The scalp needs dirt for protection when using ammonia, that’s why the hair must not be newly washed.

The communication between hairdressers in P.K’s being poor, no one told the man who work in the P.K.’s that Irie had washed her hair. Tow minutes after having the thick white ammonia gloop spread on to her head, she felt the initial cold sensation change to a terrific fire, she start bleeding and her previously long hair is now only a few inches long.
