New Year’s Eve is one of the most wonderful family events in Vietnam. It takes place on January 1^st on the lunar calendar. The event is celebrated at home with family members. Before the event, family members and their relatives clean and decorate their house by hanging red lanterns. They also cook traditional cakes, like banh chung and banh tet together. The event offers a great number of foods, drinks and various activities. During the event, people not only enjoy chicken, grilled pork and soft drink, but they also sing and play traditional games. People watch lion dance and enjoy fireworks at the midnight. Children give best regards to their parents and grandparents. The adults give lucky money to children in exchange. Both men and women wear traditional ao dai during the event. In conclusion, New Year’s Eve is an interesting family event that we should meet.
