Customers has been exposed to a wide range of direct marketing activities by various companies in recent days. Marketing managers are always seeking greater returns from their investment and pursuing for higher response rates from those activities but minimise the number of contacts/costs. What needs to be answered is which of those customers are most likely to respond to these direct marketing activities.
A portugese banking institution, which was involved in direct marketing activities faces the same problem. The classification problem which aims to identify the customers who has greater propensity to respond to a direct phone call campaign (term deposit subscribtion).
The aim of this project is to aid the campaign management team of the Chinese banking institution to build a best possible propensity model using CRISP-DM methodology. In order to build the model, various algorithms and models need to be compared and tested. Namely, ..etc.
This project will help the campaign team to optimize their direct marketing operations. Greater campaign responses rates can be achieved by identifying the customers with greater propensity scores. What's more, Customer relationship management (CRM) can be improved and resource cost can be reduced by limiting contacts to those who are not likely to respond.
