Long, long ago in ancient times there was a ritual of taking off with the blame. (Why didn't you use very long instead of long, long? And it should have been in an ancient time. I don't quite understand what taking off with the blame stands for, so I'd just say taking off the blame, it's like to remove the blame from you)

If you felt blame for something, you needed to find a goat and put your hands on its head and lay down your blame on it.
The goat over whose head one confessed one’s blame, was then taken into the wilderness and allowed to escape, symbolically taking all the sins with it and giving the person a fresh, sin-free start. This lucky goat was known as the "escape goat".

You should probably say 'sin' instead of 'blame'.
