I live in Prestonsburg Kentucky in the Eastern United States. The place has been known for its magnificent lakes and mountain views and also the Home of Country Music Stars. On the other hand, the city has its disadvantages, the healthcare, job opportunities and education in the area are limited.
Prestonsburg is a countryside which has a small population. The city is adorned with wonderful lakes that have abundant sport fishes, which is very ideal for fishing. Also, the view of the mountains with beautiful snowcaps on its crown during the winter season resembles the famous Mountain Alps in Alaska. Moreover, the serene surrounding of the environment in the country provides a luxurious living for a person who enjoys nature. The area is perfect for organic vegetable gardening, since everything is natural in the countryside. For example, most of the people in my area use household organic garbage for fertilizer with their tomato plants. As a result the tomatoes gives a bountiful harvest and are safe to consume. In addition, the chirping of the birds bouncing from tree to tree makes every morning in the countryside a magical world to reside.
The Country Music Highway runs through Prestonsburg to hail the legacy of popular country singers born in the area. In fact Loretta Lynn, Wynonna Judd, Naomi Judd, Billy Ray Cyrus, Tom T. Hall, Ricky Skaggs, Keith Whitley, Dwight Yoakam, and Patty Loveless are among the few stars that come back to entertain the locals in their hometown every year and hold a concert at the popular Mountain Arts Center.
Although the city is an ideal place to settle, it does have a negative side. During springtime, when trees are in full bloom, the air to inhale in the area is abundant with pollens which can trigger allergies to a sensitive person. Furthermore the healthcare department of Prestonsburg is not well-equipped to handle high-risk patients. Since the area has few populations, the job opportunities are low. Same goes with the education that the city can offer is less advanced when being compared with the education a bigger city can offer, because the city of Prestonsburg lacks sophisticated school materials and teachers with expertise.
In summary, I think it really depends on the kind of person that would like to move into my city. Although, the city of Prestonsburg has its drawbacks still it offers a variety of reasons a person to consider to settle in the area.
