Hallyu refers to a phenomenon that Korean pop culture such as television dramas, movies, pop music, fashion, and e-sports, etc, is getting popularity in other countries. There are some problems with Hallyu, the Korean wave. First, The growing animosity toward the Korean wave is curbing the popularity of the Korean wave. For instance, Taiwan, Vietnam, and other countries have limited or banned Korean dramas to protect their own countries' cultural industries, limiting the influence of Hallyu. Secondly, The contents of Hallyu are becoming too monotonous. In the 2000s, Korea exported mostly television dramas and films, in the 2010s it exported mainly K-POP. At this rate, the Korean wave will lose its popularity. These problems suggest that some solutions are needed for the development of Hallyu. In accordance with the worldwide trend, first of all, the world is becoming a global village, it will be possible that making the Korean wave more abundant by changing the existing one-way cultural exchange into a multilateral cultural exchange. This will help reduce the hostility of several countries about the influence of Hallyu. Next, if the contents of Hallyu is developed in various fields, such as e-sports and K-beauty, it could help the Korean Wave retain its international spotlight for a longer time by bringing more people to join the Korean Wave.
