Essay Topic : Some people think that the increased use of technology in the home, such as TV and computers, has been beneficial for family life. Others, however, believe that families were closer before the introduction of such technology.

Discuss both these views and give your own opinion. Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

Some people believe that utilizing technology such as TV and Computers has many profits for family life. Nevertheless, others argue that technology has certain drawbacks for family. Indeed, there are several arguments against and for it.

Nowadays, due to technology development, many facilities are provided in homes which could improve families' life. For example, these days, computers could be found in every home which could be used as an educational tool for children or adults. In Addition, it said that computers and televisions are most interesting things which people prefer to use them in leisure time as entertainment. For instant, today, there are numerous television channels that show many programs for all age levels and each family member could watch her/his favorite program.

One the other hand, unlike today, in the past, all family members usually spent their time together when they were in home. But these days, all family members almost have own computer, mobile or television and they usually spend their time with these devices in home. In particular, some family members prefer to watch their interesting television channels, others like to use computer for browsing to the Internet or gaming purpose. So, as a usual, they would not able to spend their time with each other.

In conclusion, despite numerous benefits which are provided by technology for families, using technology could disrupt the interaction that has existed between family members. I personally believe that using technology is very essential for all family members but they should always have adequate time for each other especially when they spend their time in home.
