I have been expecting a registered (signed for) parcel which was addressed to my apartment from Japan in May 2008. During May and June, I have been checking constantly with staffs at the concierge the parcel, but have been told that the parcel is not yet arrived. On 10th June 2008, I have called Royal Mail to find out what has happened to the registered parcel. Surprisingly, they advised me that the parcel had been delivered to the concierge on 14th May 2008. Royal Mail also proved with a delivery note, which was signed by Mr. John Smith who was on duty at the concierge on the day.
On the same day, I went to the concierge to see Mr. John Smith. He advised me that the parcel was not at the concierge or the storage. I have requested to see a parcel-recorded book but the parcel was not recorded on it. Mr. John Smith has offered to investigate into the case and report to me in a few days time.
During 10th June 2008 to 09th July 2008, I have been asking Mr. John Smith for progress of the investigation. He advised me that his Manager is on the case and he suggested to me that I would be in contact very soon. I am very disappointed that I have yet contacted by the Manager.
I am very disappointed because my parcel was lost at the concierge. The staffs at the concierge are responsible to keep the delivered parcels in a safe place until a residence picks it up. If it is a case of thief, you have a responsibility to report to the police without any doubt and delay. I have not been informed that has been done. I see this is a major safety issue to the residences of the building.
To resolve the problem I would appreciate your compensation of £100 for the value of my lost parcel.
I look forward to hearing from you and to a resolution of this problem. I will wait for 5 working days before seeking help from Citizens Advice Bureau and Consumer Direct. Please contact me at the above address or by phone 1234 567 890.
Yours sincerely,
