Please correct mistakes or give me suggestions.

(1) When I was in school, I liked both English and math. It is said that
people who are good at languages are bad at mathematics, and vice versa. However, from my experience, this is not always true. Rather, I think these two abilities are closely related with each other.

(2) When I was a student, I liked both English and mathematics. They say that those who are good at languages are poor at mathematics, and vice versa. However, my experience shows that this is not necessarily the case. In fact, I think that there is a close relation between these two abilities.
