Please Correct me

Please correct the following statement.

"My early study of science made me read about the works of some great scientists like Sir Isaac Newton, Michael Faraday and Einstein. Reading about these scientists served as a great source of inspiration and challenge to me."

However, ChinsoTan uses the active voice, which means the subject "I" is "doing" the action instead of the action doing something on the subject, which is called the passive voice.
