Please correct it and modify it so that it's look stronger

My name is Xxxx Xxxx. I am working as engineer in ATCIS Technology, Bangalore branch. My employee ID is 1234567. My team leader is Aiyappa sir(software developement branch). I am presently on leave. I am in my home town Patna and its a two day journey from Patna to Bangalore.

Actually I was expected to join the office on 19th Dec, 2014. But I want one day extension due to ticket issue. I would certainly join the office on 20th Dec 2014. Today( 15th Dec), I spoke to my team leader regarding same but he told me that he is helpless. Then I tried to get confirm ticket of 16th Dec, unfortunately I was unsuccessful. Among higher authorities, I have your E-mail ID only. So I am writing my application to you.

Kindly grant me leave extension. I am not able to join office on 19th Dec in any situation. I will be thankful to you for the same.
