Please correct it

Water experts warned recently that more than fifty percent of the/- world's lakes suffer from overuse and a/- pollution. The/- scientists and conservationists are demanding urgent action because the/- lakes are not only an/- important source of the/- water. They are also critical to the/- agriculture, tourism and the/- production of energy. In the/- China, 543 lakes disappeared between the/- 1850 and 1980 because of excessive use in irrigation. The/- Aral Sea, located between the/- Kazakhstan and the/- Uzbekistan was the world's fourth largest lake. Because of increased irrigation in the/- area it is now the eighth largest lake in the world. The/- Lake Victoria in the/- Africa is also at risk. The/- lakes also feel the effects of acid rain particularly in the/- Australia, the/- Canada,the/- Europe, the/- Japan and the/- United States. Many lakes are now so acidic, they can no longer sustain the/- forms of life originally found there.
