Please correct following sentence

For instance, only an hour before my defense session, my supervisor for my doctoral thesis rushed to another hospital to find an answer to my question.

Thaks for reply ,there are still two my un this sentence ,I came up with fllowing sentence what do you think? and are you sure that supervisror should be used?

What is the function of a thesis 'mentor' in your country? In the US, a graduate student has a thesis advisor or supervisor who coaches him during the process of his thesis writing.

Two 'my's is not too many, and you have ignored the other corrections I made earlier. Just replace 'supervisor' with 'advisor' in my first correction.

I did not mean to offend you,sorry if u were offended.I already corrected other parts as you said.But i was told that I can not use too many of same word in one sentence or even following sentences,that is the reason i asked you which one sounds better 2nd or 3 rd with 2 the or just 1 the or none at all.please guide me.

The number of pronouns cannot be helped. There is no limit to how many can be properly used: I lost my way in the desert, and my wife stole my horse, my rifle, and my favorite filly
