It is true that the wealth gap has increase significantly in recent day. The reasons for this vary, and steps need to be taken to tackle the problem.

There are several problems that can occur. Firstly, the growing number of poor people could exacerbated the current dilemmas such as poverty, crime and unemployment. People who live on the bread line are usually the victim of financial obstacles. Their meager income cannot cover their living expense and other needs, this result in a group of people have to resort to crimes and other wrongdoings just to stay afloat. In contrast, rich people lead an extravagant lifestyle and usually spend more than they need. They throw exorbitant parties, acquire luxury possessions and rarely experience scarcity in life. This reality goes against the value of a fair society. Secondly, the misdistribution of wealth puts weight on the locals’ authorities. The government is still the main provider of social welfare, so they have responsibility to look after the poor’s wellbeing by using the government fund. This action can takes a toll on the public purse and compromises the development of society.

However, this issue is not intractable. The simplest measure is to increase the amount of income tax on extremely wealthy individual. The proposition will not jeopardize the rich lifestyle due to the already massive amount of wealth they have acquired. Then, the money should be used to create jobs and support poor people. This action give the unfortunate a chance to assimilate back to society and to keep them out of harm way. Another solution is to promote a philanthropy lifestyle for the affluent people. Donations and charities can be made and funded by the rich, then the money could be used to support the unfortunate. Wealthy people such as Warren Buffet and Bill Gate have donated a tremendous amount of wealth to different organizations in order to support others. Rich people should be taught about the value of their donation and how it could affect the unfortunate, so they can acknowledge their responsibilities and play their part.

In conclusion, while the gap between the rich and the poor show no sign of slowing down, different alternative can be made to solve this problem.
