Celebrities make a very good living out of media attention and have chosen to lived in public spotlight. They have no right to complain when they feel the media are intruding their privacy. To what extend to agree and disagree on that opinion?

It is often debated that celebrities have no right to complain when the media are intruding on their privacy, while others believe that celebrities are just like any other human being and therefore their privacy should be respected as well. In this essay, I will discuss both views and explain my support for the latter.

Some celebrities keep their status through infamy and media mileage by using their private lives as leverage. This is because without the people talking about them, there is a possibility that they will be forgotten and fade to oblivion. For instance, Kim Kardashian consented with an online site to release her illicit videos with her partner. By doing so, the people have become more interested in her and her lifestyle. Many entertainment pundits believe that this video started her entertainment career. In this regard, celebrities should not complain when their private lives are discussed in the media, since they willingly shared them publicly.

On the contrary, not all celebrities are attention-seekers. In fact, many are legitimate artists. For instance, there are numerous actors and actresses who are graduates of reputable acting schools in the US, and some are even recognized by prestigious award giving bodies. Therefore, it is highly unfair for these individuals that media outfits write about their private lives more than their capabilities as actors and actresses. Evidently, their lives should be kept private. They have the right to live comfortably without the media intruding into their private affairs.

In conclusion, although it is true that there are celebrities who are famous simply because of their antics and colorful lifestyle, there are entertainers who are worthy of their status because of their exceptional talent. In my opinion, the privacy of such celebrities should be respected and they should be appreciated more because of their abilities.
