I've recieved the notice you told me about. What do you mean by "YOU should answer your own questions and..." Do you want me to ask you questions? As far as I understood you want me to ask you about the sentences or some parts of them I'm hesitating about, don't you?

Hi,
I have made up 19 sentences and would like you to correct them.

You've given 19 sentences that you want corrected. You should try to correct those sentences on your own first. If your answers are incorrect, then we'll give you a hand. But we won't or shouldn't blindly correct answers for people. Often people post their homework for us to complete.

Well, I think you got me wrong. These sentences were not my homework! I have made them up by myself! Nobody helped me write them. No teacher could have given me the sentence about Lokomotiv coming first this year. S/he would have asked me to translate something more interesting for them. You know it's not interesting for me to transalte stupid sentences about politcs which I'm not very interested

Here are my own corrections:

3. After a long discussion we came to a conclusion that the reason why he had failed to
perform his obligations was his careless reading of the safety regulations.

I think that I probably have to say: his careless reading the safety regulations.

9. Even though Japan were considered to be of much lower class than most other tea

ReDSanchous,

3. After a long discussion we came to a conclusion that the reason why he had failed to perform his obligations was his careless reading of the safety regulations.

This is long and wordy.

We concluded that he failed to perform his obligations because he didn't read the safety regulations carefully/properly (pick one).

This is long and wordy.

I know that this sentence was fairly long and wordy but the reason why I decided to write such a wordy sentence was that I wanted to practise a few new words and my grammar. That's why I wrote a long and wordy sentence. Nevertheless, if you think that a more compact sentence looks better I'll alter my sentence.

Hello RdS

19 is an intriguing number to choose.

There are one or two errors in the sentences you haven't discussed with MH. I'll mark in bold the parts that need a 2nd look. Feel free to post any revisions.

I've also asked some additional questions, so you can practise composing sentences:

1. 'Having known that a friend of mine had already been disc

1. 'Having known that a friend of mine had already been discharged from hospital two days ago, I went to the shop to buy a bunch of flowers for him. I thought it would make him happy.'

What's wrong here? The only alternative I can suggest is to replace 'having known' with 'When I knew..." Would it be correct?

6. 'A lot of historians believe that Columbus discovered America in

Perhaps, I should say: Having learnt - in the first sentence.
