Please coorect my interpretation if i am wrong.

“It helped that Emily didn’t nag at him to stop sulking or bitching”

Nag = annoy somone

Skulk=upset

Bithcing= excellent

I sum up= Emily didint annoyed him for his stoping being upset or bithching.

But i am not satisfied my interpretation . Am i correct?
