Hi,

please check and confirm or correct where necessary:

1. I am afraid I can not help you in this situation

2. I fear I can not help you in this situation

Both possible??same meaning??

3. I am worried about you (does it mean that I fear something bad can happen to you or something like that?)

4. She said that she did not know what she had to do with him

Can you please tell me why I can not use "to fear" in sentence 1?

Can you also explain why you removed "that" in sentence 3 and you used "didn´t " instead od "did not" ?

Both are OK, but #2 is more formal.

About the period at the end of the sentences: is it really considered such a big mistake not to add it?? I think many native English speakers don´t care about it....

Secondly: is it possible in some cases to omit the "that" like in sentence 4 ? I know I wrote it but sometimes it happens that I omit it..

About the proper use of puntuation, I don´t have doubt you are right, just sometimes people who learn a language focus more on the grammar than on the puntuation and this makes some sentences not that clear.
