Please confirm my grammar.

Orginal:
  1. Every one knows how to listen but many of us listen at only twenty-five per cent effeceny.
  2. Its wise to avoid arguing or criticizing, when listening to a superior.
  3. The 4 stages of listening are: Perception, Interpretation, Evaluation and Action.
  4. To improve retention you should take notes, and rewrite it immediatley after listening.
  5. While waiting for the speakers next idea you should review what was all ready spoke.
  6. High-staus and self-confidence is conveyed by erect posture.
  7. On May 12th, the company President awarded bonuses to Tyler and I, however we didn’t recieve our checks until June first.
  8. In a poll of nearly three thousand employees only 1/3 felt that there company’s valued there opinions and suggestion.
  9. The appearance and mannerisms of a speaker effects a listeners evaluation of a message.
  10. A list of suggestions for improving retention of a speakers ideas are found in an article titled best Listening Habits which appeared in fortune.

I suggest 'one third'. It's a matter of style, but my feeling is that simple fractions of this type are not normally written as 'numbers' in good prose.

I understand it's notes but why did you use "them" instead of "it"? I thought it supposed to be "it" as it's not a people or animals. Thanks

He picked up the books and put them on the table. Use 'them' for people, animals or things.

You wouldn't say He picked up the books and put it on the table.
