Please comment on this sentence.

00A few of my colleagues argued that the second part of the sentence "goes the way that shows the way" is wrong. When this part is seperated from the main sentence and written along with the subject, it reads as "A teacher goes the way that shows the way". Can anyone please comment on this sentence? 0-
