Hi again, ( A ) It was them who were holding the ladder on which I climbed on and off repetitively. It was they who were holding the ladder on which I climbed, on and off, repetitively. This is another form of the 'It was I/It was me' discussion.

Does a present perfect sound more natural in the second sentence?

'This is the first' seems to clash with 'I am'.

Or "this is the first gym I've joined to have a steam sauna", maybe.

They were the ones holding the ladder I kept climbing onto and off of.
Of all the gyms I've joined, this is the first that has a sauna.
