Please comment

Hi MH

Please comment on the following sentences:

"As of November 21, actual progress was 18 percent complete, while the schedule indicates a progress percentage of 25 percent."

It just doesn't sound OK when I read aloud. Any suggestion?

"You should take immediate action - under section 3.10.4 of the Supplementary Conditions of Contract - to improve the construction progress."

Is hypen necessary?

Thanks in advance.

Regards

Hello Ed73 I think the problem may be that 'progress' by its nature can't be 'complete', so there's a faint incongruity in saying 'progress was 18% complete'. You progress towards completion of a given task or project. Would something like this suit your context?

Thanks MrP. Yes, the word 'progress' is what I wanted.

The words 'actual progress' is referred here as the actual amount of work that has been done - measured in percentage. I think he word 'project' will be too general. What about the following:

"I have reviewed the actual work progress against your submitted project schedule, and have noticed that the construction is signifi

Hello Ed

Perhaps:

"I have reviewed the actual progress in the work against your submitted project schedule, and have noticed that [the] construction is significantly behind schedule. As of November 21, the work was 18% complete, while the progress schedule requires 25% completion by this date."
