Please clear my doubts about articles / adjective in the sentences

IISM opened the world of great internship opportunities that have aided me to move forward in my career in the sports management. The master's program checked all the right boxes. It has offered me more than adequate exposure to the various aspects of sports management.

My queries:

1. have aided or has aided

2. move forward in my career in the sports management

Here do I need an article 'the' before sports?

3. exposure to the various aspects of sports management.

Similarly, do I need article 'the' here too before sports?

Thanks in advance
