An increasing number of children are overweight which could result many problems when they grow older both in terms of their health and health costs. Why do you think so many children are overweight? What could be done to solve this problem?

Obesity has become major issue among the young childrens in this modern era and that can create serious problems in their health and care. This essay will examine the causes of overweight and and some solutions to tackle such problem.

To begin,overeating of junk food and lack of exercise are the main reasons for gaining more weight. These days, people prefer fast food restaurants rather than homemade food, which contains more calories and fat. As a result, they increase their body size and suffer from different disease. For instance, more than 80% people in every major city follows junk food and decreases the health quality. Secondly, majority of children spend their whole day either in front of tv or using any social networking site and do not do exercise. Thus, they are more likely to suffer from obesity. For example, recent survey conducted in Kathmandu found that children spend more than 6 hours playing computer games and watching cartoons and do not want to play outside. That’s why, lack of physical activity and excess consumption of oily food cause overweight.

There are many ways to reduce this problem. First of all, government should organize more awareness programs to inform all people about the effects of overweight. Local people understand the impact of this and avoid their bad habits like eating too much fast foods. Moreover, state should provide sports equipment and parks to encourage children to play more games and improve their health. By doing so, all the children would reduce the chances of obesity.

In conclusion, growing fast foods and lack of exercise are the reason for gaining weight and awareness programs and availability of sports facilities would solve this problem.
