Please check this sentence

·In this case, we can ignore friction, in whatever form it may influence the system.


Is this sentence grammatically correct? Especially, I want to know the structure of this 'in whatever form it may influence the system' part. I think that 'it may influence the system' is a complete sentence, I mean, 'the system' is the object of 'influence,' so this part can’t modify 'whatever form.'
