Please check this paragraph

Hi teachers, is there anything about this paragraph that is not correct or sounds less good? And is the punctuation OK?

Tarik turns on the light and steps into the office, carrying a machine gun. As the door closes with a click behind him, he whirls, knocking a lamp off a desk, and fires wildly around the room for about ten seconds before realizing no one's there. He lowers the machine gun and breathes a sigh of relief, but just then he steps on a porcelain figure, which has dropped from the desk, and starts firing wildly around the room again, before finally stumbling backward and firing into the ceiling, hitting the light bulb, which explodes. The room goes dark.
