After being released from prisons, many criminals are reported to be re-offended. They commit crimes again because of several reasons such as financial shortage and prejudices. Cooperations of government and society in order to give the jobs or a base to reintegrate to the community could make the situation better.

First of all, criminals end up commiting crimes again to make ends meet. People who used to commit crimes are usually isolated from the community. They have to face several problems, for example: unemloyment and becoming homeless. A criminal record is considered to be a disadvantage in CVs. Companies often deny to employ those people because of their concern on whether criminals would re-offend or affect the brands’ reputation. As a result, they can not afford the cost of living and become homeless. Moreover, the punishment may not effective. Doing illegal transactions could be the fastest and easiest way to earn money. Profits from these actions are also enormous.

Furthermore, some of them re-offend accidently due to stress and metal problems. Criminals are placed under pressure of prejudices and madness of society. They often have to move to other places in order to start their lives over. Negative attitude of the society could cause harmful actions to release the stress.

Government effort is vital to solve to reduce the recidivism rate. They can offer vocational trainings to prisoners to improve their knowledge and skills. This helps make sure they will be able to find a job or do a start up themselves after releasing from the prison. Government can give rewards to criminals who have positive changes and express good attitude. This solution also requires support from the society. People should give them opportunities to start again with a clean slate.

In conclusion, prejudices and ambition to afford the living cost could make criminals commiting crimes again. This problem is considered to be nationwide issue. The government and community should join hand to humanize those people by giving them jobs as well as a friendly living environment.
