Hi everybody,

1) He is intelligent that everyone appreciates him. (without 'so')

2) He is so intelligent that everyone appreciates him. (with 'so')

3) Are the both senteces correct?

4) I would like to know whether 'that clause', coming after the main clause containing a linking verb, compulsorily requires 'so'?

So...that is used to emphasize a cause-effect relationship between two clauses. So modifies the adjective or adverb in the cause clause.
