Please check the text for mistakes. (It's rather urgent.)

Hello,

Could someone please let me know if there are any mistakes in the following text?

The reason I was absent on Wednesday, March 15th, 2007, was my spinal pain. I had been completely bedridden, since my doctor had prescribed rest.

Therefore, I feel I should be allowed to use sick.

Meanwhile, thank you and I assure you of my continuing efforts.

Thanks a lot in advance.

I would like to apply my sick time to the hours I missed... OR Please designate this as sick leave... I'm not sure how this is used where you are. But "sick" by itself is proabably not right.

I appreciate your help.

Dear GG,

It's so nice of you to give me a hand with this. I'm really very grateful to you for taking some of your very expensive time out for me, and editing the application letter.
