Oliver Twist is the second novel for Charles Dickens was written 1838.The book was originally published in Bentley's Miscellany as a serial.
An orphan boy named Oliver Twist spends 9 years of a miserable childhood in a workhouse. His question for getting more food leads him to more poverty in a hard work outside the workhouse. The boy escapes to London where he is taken by a gang of thieves which is led by an old man named Fagin. Mr. Brownlow, the victim of the gang’s crime, is a kindly old gentleman who be friends Oliver and takes him home. Oliver eventually knows his true identity, gains a family and an inheritance.

The story describes the hard life of the 19th century in England and paints a very bleak picture of London and how the children labour spread widely in the country. But I think it remains one of the most popular novels ever written where it made as a film meny times.

In the following sentence which came in the story, we find that poor boy should give them more than they give him.
” Pray for the people who feed you and take care of you –like a Christian” said the gentlemen.

Even the workhouse, which should be the institution that takes care the children, but we see it leave them hungry with little food and push theme to the work in early age.

The writing of Dickens brings the strong characters of Fagin, Bill Sikes and the Artful Dodger vividly to life. Against them, Oliver Twist is the innocent we are agreeable with.

Charles Dickens's father was a clerk, who moved his family to London when Charles was ten years old. Two years later, young Charles had to leave school to support his family. He read constantly and wandered around the poor working-class districts and slum areas where the criminals hung out. These places and their inhabitants are vividly described in the novel.

In conclusion, the poverty is a huge enemy for the humanity should be fight constantly.
