Please check the essay for me. Is it reasonable or not?

Write about the following topic.

The internet has greatly increased our access to information. To what extent do you think this is a good thing?

Give reasons for your answer and include any relevant examples from your own knowledge or experience.

You should spend about 40 minutes on this task.

Task

There is an opinion that the Internet has helped people to access to information. Personally, I partly agree with that.

One the one hand, the Internet is a means of updating current situations. For example, twenty years ago, when corruption was taken place and almost information were not published, people had to wait for printed newspaper to see what happened in recent days and it led to the inconvenience. However, with the coverage of the Internet nowadays, people easily know the occurrence of the events and catch up with the information of other countries. Moreover, thanks to the information from Internet, poor people have opportunities to access to education, find jobs, get more knowledge and more importantly, they can get out of poverty.

On the other hand, a lot of information from the Internet are not verified and people are likely to get fake news. Beside of that, Internet users are on the edge of being attacked and stolen private information by hackers. All their information can be exposed to outsiders without notice when they surf webs. Moreover, in families’ cases, parents nowadays cannot control the content of information that their children acquire although there are many software to prevent that.

In conclusion, although the Internet has its backward sides, I myself think that the advantages of the Internet outweigh the shortcomings. (222 words)
