Topic: The line graph shows the percentage of New Zealand population from 1950 to 2050.

The line graph compares the proportion of dwellers living in New Zeland between 19950 and 2050.

Overall, it can be seen that the percentage of people aged over 65 is by far the sharpest growth in New Zeland from 1950 to 2050. Additionally, the proportion of people between 0 and 14 years old is expected an increase in 2050 while the percentage of people who belong to the 25 to 37 age group is a predicted decline in 2050.

In 1950, just over 60% of the total population in New Zeland fell into senior citizens (over 65) whereas people aged 38 to 45 took up a smaller percentage in 1950, at around 25%. The figure for people aged over 60 and 38 to 45 experienced an increase over the following 40 years to roughly 70% and just under 50% respectively in 1990 before slight dropping back roughly 60% and 40% respectively in 2000. However, these two age groups are expected a drop back to roughly 55% and just beneath 40% respectively.

Furthermore, the percentage of adult people who belong to the 25 to 37 age group stood at 25% in 1950. It is predicted a steady decline to 0 in 2050. The proportion of young people who fall into the 0 to 14 age group remained unchanged at around 5% from 1950 to 1990 before it is expected a steady increase to precisely 20% in 2050.
