The given pie charts illustrates different methods of waste disposed in a particular country from 1960 to 2011.

Overall, as can be seen from the chart that there was an increase in the percentage of food, wood and plastic disposal. In contrast, people threw away less paper, textiles and other types of waste disposed.

In 1960, paper accounted for one quarter of total waste disposal, but this saw a slightly decline to 15% in 2011. Also, the figure for textiles experienced a significant drop, from 17% to 11%. Lastly, the proportion of others methods of waste disposed in 2011 was three times lower (4%) than it was in 1960 (12%).

By contrast, the percentage disposing food waste in 2011 was higher (21%) than the figure of 12% in 1960 while the figure for wood was twice as high, at 8% compared to 4%. Another noticeable rise was in the percentage of plastic waste, that in 2011 (18) was more than double the 1960 figure (8%).

Last but not least, glass, metal and green waste shared almost constant figure. The two latter types of waste disposal were about 9%. Moreover, the percentage of glass thrown away was only 9%.
