Some people think that government is responsible for the rise in obesity in children.

Many people think the government should hold accountable for the increasing rate of dangerous diseases, especially obesity in young children. In this essay, I will discuss why I totally approve of this trend.

The main reason for this mentioned trend is that unhealthy diets mainly cause obesity, and fortunately, the food industry is under the control of governments. Firstly, over consumption of junk food is one factor placing the youth at risk of getting overweight, and the authorities can take action to minimize these dire situations. They may be able to impose strict laws on food safety and enforce food manufacturing factories. More specifically, the states can prohibit these food factories from adding too many additives, preservatives, and chemicals into children's snacks or beverages. Moreover, the governments could also encourage making appealing healthy snacks like dried vegetarian chips to replace those unhealthy ones someday.

In addition to the above reason, I also believe that governments play a crucial role in censoring media advertisements, which contribute to the rise in being overweight in the young. According to a recent survey, many children insist on buying unhealthy food products, which have been attractively introduced in advertisements on several platforms. Therefore, governments could prevent those appealing advertisements from being shown nationally and broadcast other healthy things instead to increase the children’s preferences for them.

In conclusion, provided that governments successfully undertake mentioned preventive actions, the rate of children having obesity will decrease someday. On the other side, family and other factors should involve in this process to be actualized.
