THE TOPIC: Schools should not force children to learn a foreign language. To what
extent do you agree with this statement?

MY ESSAY:

Because international integration has been promoted in recent decades, some people believe that students have to study a foreign language in schools. In my opinion, I think they should not be forced to do so.

There are many benefits of learning another language in our life if they are encouraged properly during their school years. First, knowing more than two languages not only help learners in communication with foreigners but also improve adaptability and problem-solving skill. For example, for international students, who really need to blend into the strange culture and new environment, language will play an essential role in fostering this process. Second, with good language skills, they can access information in another language, which is not available in their country. Nowadays, almost all newspapers and articles are written in global languages such as France or English. If students are proficient in English, they can assimilate knowledge proactively, especially not wasting time using dictionaries.

However, forcing students to learn what they do not interested in will need to take into consideration. To encourage students to learn by heart, refining the way schoolchildren approach language is necessary. Teachers should adopt unique and fun lectures in classes. The less stressful lessons, the more learners absorb in language and learn effectively. Besides, schools also should run some competitions and talk shows between students to wake up their competence as well as proper awareness of foreign language. In VietNam, youngsters will have a wider career only with the ability to speak English or English certificates.

In conclusion, I think if we have efficient methods, students will love learning English automatically without forcing or punishment.
