Topic: Some people claim that not enough of the waste from homes is recycled. They say that the only way to increase recycling is for governments to make it a legal requirement.

To what extent do you think laws are needed to make people recycle more of their waste?

Recycling plays a crucial part in keeping the amount of waste at a low level and making the environment cleaner. Many people claim that there has been too little waste from home recycled. While I accept that issuing laws could tackle this problem, I believe that this is by no means the only way.

In my opinion, making recycling compulsory could bring some advantages for a number of reasons. First, issuing laws on recycling can turn something as unhabitual like processing trashes become more familiar to the citizen. People then are likely to do it out of conscious and more frequently. Second, since fines and punishments are two penalties that come along with breaking the law, people would be more aware of their recycling routine and do it more often.

On the other hand, there are other solutions, apart from forcing habitants to follow the law, to cope with this problem. One approach is to focus on education and make the local willing to process their waste instead of making them obey the law. By enhancing the knowledge of citizens and make them notice the advantages of recycling their rubbish, we can make much more positive impacts. Additionally, governments should encourage adolescents to create inventions that help recycle become an easy chore. Indeed when recycling becomes effortless, there would be no excuse to neglect or avoid doing it.

In conclusion, though forcing citizens to recycle their wastes might raise the figure in waste recycling, I believe that it is not the only action to address the concern.
