There is no doubt that traffic jam and pollution issues are verdict problems which the authority has to solve. Many people believe that rising petrol price is the way to resolve the problems. However, I believe that there are other effective solutions to solve the complications.

First of all, the government should encourage citizen using public transportation for daily activities. This is because the decrease of people using personal vehicles will lead to reduce emission to the environment and the number of transports on the road. For example, the air pollution is an increasing problem with the local authority in Tayoma city, Japan. To hit back, the local authority releases some legislations to improve the quality of service of public transport and various campaigns to persuade people to use it. However, people are too familiar with using personal vehicles, therefore citizen still refuse to use public transport despite government endeavor.

Furthermore, the local authority should manage the quantity of people own their personal cars tightly. Because the solution will encourage people use other vehicles to transport, such as: bicycle, subway, bus or they can walk. Singapore is a good example, the government puts more taxes on personal cars and people have to complete a lot of qualifications if they want to drive their cars on the road. In contrast, the solution will directly effect on some industries relevant to the car, such as: car manufacturing industry, car maintenance and repair industry and so on.

In conclusion, putting more price of petrol is a good solution to solve traffic jam and pollution troubles. However, the government can encourage citizen using public transports and restrict the number of people own personal cars.
