Topic: Many people think that it is unnecessary to teach children hanwriting skills in this technology age. To what extent do you agree or disagree?

Teaching young people handwriting skills is worthless in recent day within the development of technology. While, many people are in favour of this view, I content that continuing to enhance handwriting skills is better.

On the one hand, learning touch-type has more benefits in some ways instead of writing by hands. In terms of the processing of work, using computer excellently plays an important role in preparing youngsters for works, boosting their job prospects and pursuing their successful carreers. Many jobs require such skills. Business emails, for example, are really essential to contact with their partners or customers. Their relationships are concerned. it is easy to get in touch with their friends as well as expanding their networking because of computer’s development. Youngsters, for example, usually communicate with their friends via online apps such as facebook, twitter….

On the other hand, there are a various of reason why children should continue to learn handwriting skills. Firstly, many children and even adults have to sit an exam in which they have to present hardwriten answers. In my country, not all exams are on computers such as university entrance exam. Therefore, children shouldn’t become over-reliant on their computers in all cases. Secondly, the most reason is that learning handwriting is linked to learn speaking to spell, or basic reading or even grammar. For instance, Teachers often encourage children to learn new vocabularies by using hands to take note according to the way they understand.

In conclusion, although, in technology age, many skills are replacing in modern way, I still consider that handwriting skills are crucial and we should keep on advancing these skills.
