IELTS Writing Task 1: the cross-sections of two tunnels, one joining France and Italy and the other joining two Japanese islands

The diagrams given illustrate the cross-sectors of two tunnels including one linking France and Italy and the other linking two Japanese islands.

Overall, it is clear evidence that the railway tunnel in Japan is longer than the road tunnel. Moreover, It took more time to build the Japanese railway tunnel than Mont-Blanc road tunnel.

While the depth of the distance in the railway tunnels was 53.85 km, compared to 0,24 km of the road tunnel between France and Italy. The same pattern was seen in the length of the tunnel, which was 53.85km and 11.6 km of railway tunnel and road tunnel respectively.

Construction years of the two tunnels were vastly different. The number of years of road tunnel built was 8 years in comparison with 42 years building railway one. A noticeable thing is that Japanese tunnel was built under the sea as opposed to the tunnel linking France and Italy was built under a mountain.
