Script.
Good morning/afternoon/evening I'm Jan-an Highschool student in the 1st grade, and, my name is 'hahaha'.
The day after I saw the paper about this contest, I made a call to my uncle who works at 'hahah' power plant to ask what subject would be great. He said every subject is boring to him, but if anything is concerned with Global Warming or Green Growth, that's valuable. I agreed, and that's why I picked 'Necessity of the Green Growth policy.'
So now, let me talk about the subject.
This is from the Wikipedia.?Green Growth is the strategy model for Korea. Lee Myung Bak, the president of Korea, has embraced a vision of Low Carbon, Green Growth as the core of the Republic's new vision on 60th anniversary of the nation.?
Ok, the policy is about economic growth that does not bring environmental destruction. That is one of boring environment protection classics but that means it's so important. Let's see how it is so important.
One major thing is the Global Warming. Well that's why Korea need such a policy. Human produced 31billion tons of carbon dioxide in the year 2009. This is first reduction during 10 years, but it's small change and the total amount is still harmful. And guess what? Korea ranked 7th place in carbon dioxide production. 664 million tons, 13kg per person, more than 2% of worldwide carbon dioxide production and continuously increasing.
If this circumstance keeps growing like it recently does, I'm sure that you know that we'll lose our homeworld. Even earlier than we can terraform Mars and escape from our own earth. Or even before than we can send a space ship to Mars.
In Korea there will no more be 4 seasons after 80 years. Even the winters are already 1 month shortened. Also there will be lots of rains like in jungle, more typhoons visit the peninsula and the ecosystem becomes chaos. Each time Korea's temperature increases 1°C, quite many things change for the worse.
In the long run, we are all dead.
Suppose people now sensed this danger and are doing something to protect earth, though that, scientists say that even the best scenario cannot keep us from Global Warming completely. Despite this serious condition, people don't seem to sense it in the flesh. I can see it from increasing carbon dioxide production.
Obviously we need to do something. You can buy a hybrid car for your next car. I know it's still pretty expensive, but once the price falls, I bet you hybrid cars are the best choice. And if electric cars or hydrogen cars are available, they will be the better choice. The car company, Korean government and the mother nature will thank you for purchasing good product. Or please use public transportation. Of course not just about vehicles, you can do so many things to protect our mother nature and ourselves. They are typical but effective and important. Planting trees, using eco-friendly products, saving electricity, more and more. And remember, the Green Growth policy is with you. It will support your purchasing hybrid cars, will give you jobs and the most important, will construct eco-friendly energy system. For example the Smart Grid and alternative energy resources. Nuclear power is one of them. This is the cheapest power source but barely products carbon dioxide. According to UNFCCC reference, world's carbon dioxide production would have been 25% more if there were no nuclear power plant.
So why don't we thank to Nuclear power plants. And whatever you hate or like Mr.president, let's support this meaningful Green Growth policy.
