As we can learn from the table, food/drinks/tobacco were the most crucial category as they had the highest percentage of customer expenditure. In Turkey and Ireland, consumers spent 32.14% and 28.91% their income on these items, which made them the first and the second place of all 5 nations.
On the second category which is clothing/footwear, Ireland, Spain, Turkey had quite equivalent figure of percentage as they were 6.43%, 6,51%, 6.63%. Meanwhile, Italy was the country that had the highest expending percentage on fashion items (9%) and in contrast, that of Sweden were the lowest (5.40%).
Finally, leisure/education seemed to be the least important compared with other two sorts of items, the numbers only ranged from 1-4,5%. The percentage of spending on entertainment/education of Sweden and Italy were quite similar (3.20-3.22%), while that of Turkey were a bit more (4.35%). People in Ireland spent the lowest on these types of items as they were 2.21%.
In conclusion, each of country had different percentage of national consumer spending in 2002. Turkey stayed the first position in all three kinds of items in comparison with the other four countries.
