Some people think that teachers should be responsible for teaching students to judge right and wrong and to behave well. Some say that teachers should only teach students about academic subjects. Discuss both views and give your opinion.

Moral lessons have been a subject of great interest for years. While some people believe that the young should only be taught academic subjects at school, others emphasise the roles of teachers in moral education. This essay aims to elaborate on both opinions and present the writer's perspective.

On the one hand, many people agree that children should only need to study academic subjects. First, academic knowledge improves intellectual skills. For example, when learning Math, a student can identify and analyse problem, which may develop their problem solving and critical ability. Second, the young can acquire social knowledge in different fields. While Geography provides different cultures and lifestyle around the world, Information Technology helps students apply modern gadgets in work and study. This may greatly enhance their flexibility and confidence in daily activities. Also, it is concerned that the teaching of moral principals may take time away from academic success. As parents and other caregivers can deliver moral principles, there is no need for teaching staffs.

However, I would agree with those who believe that teachers should take the responsibility of teaching ethical lessons. Firstly, students can distinguish between socially acceptable and accusable behaviours. This may assist them in staying away from anti-social behaviours. Moreover, the young can develop their good manners that is useful in their integration in school and society because in the absence of proper behaviors, they may be alienated from community. As working parents are busy with professional duties, they don't have sufficient time for child care, let alone teaching them right and wrong. Hence, they need attention from the teaching staff in moral education. Additionally, teaching deliver moral principles and they have appropriate disciplines to address misbehaviours, which will help students to become good people.

In conclusion, while studying only academic subjects can have a host of advantages, I believe that teachers play an important role in teaching students ethnical lessons.
