Topic : In many countries, the proportion of older people is steadily increasing. Does this trend have more positive or negative effects on the society?

What is your opinion on that?

In many countries around the world, the proportion of senior citizen is raising. This trend may bring out various advantages, however it also lead to many severe consequences. In my own view, the positive effects outweigh the negative ones.

Increasing number of older people can associate with overcrowding because more people live in the same period. As the result, environment might be damaged by human activities, for instance: cutting trees for papers. Moreover, the group might be considered as a burden of the society especially in undeveloped countries. Most of elder-age people are unemployed , therefor they not produce any profit. Additionally, this group can be vulnerable to diseases so that they might be depended on medical care, which cost a fortune.

In the other hand, senior citizens can have positive effects to young people. Firstly, they obtain various life lessons that the youth can applied because the older people have more experience about history, life, girls, etc. Therefor , young generation might have the lesson and try to avoid mistakes. Additionally, many subjects require experience people, for example : medicine, technology, history, geography ,etc. For this reason, older group still can contribute their knowledge to the society. Finally, old people might give a hand in raise infants by looking after them while their parents are not around. This action can save lots of money for the family.

In conclusion, it is clear that older generations can bring out many advantages but it have some negative effects. In my opinion, this group should be hold in a high esteem because they can provide us more useful lessons.
