The graph demonstrate the production and consumption of oil in China from 1982 to 2006 . In general . the oil production and consumption increased over the period . Additionally, oild was consumed more than it was produced but the opposite was true before 1994
On the first of period , the data for both consumption and production were nearly equal at about 2 million . After 8 years , the amount of production increased sharply by 1 million and stabled until 1994 . Meanwhile , the figure for oil consumption saw a steady stable until 1990 after which it rose markbly to 3 million in 1994
On the second half off period , the data for oild production incresed slightly to 3.5 barrels per day . On the other hand , the amount of oild consumption rose sharply by 1 million per day and peaked at 6,3 barrel at the end of period .
