The graph below shows the consumption of fish and some different kinds of meat in a European country between 1979 to 2004.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.

The line graph illustrates the amount of four different types of food which a European nation consumed over the period of twenty-five years.

Overall, fish was the least commonly used food in the European country throughout the period shown. Although the figures for both beef and lamp were a slight decrease that for chicken shows a reversal trend.

It is clearly seen that in 1979, the amount of fish was consumed over 50 grams per person per week. While, the figure for lamp and beef were higher, at below 150 grams and exactly 150 grams, respectively. The chicken accounted for the highest type of food which consumed in the European country, approximately 220 grams in the same year.

In the period from 1979 to 2004, this was a significant rise in the amount of chicken consumed to around 250 grams. In the contrast, the figures for lamp and fish show the same trend in term of decline, however, the consumption of lamp always higher than that of fish. Although the consumption of beef reached the peak at approximately 245 grams in 1983, it fell to above 100 grams in 2004 after minor fluctuations.
