The maps below show the centre of a small town called Islip as it is now, and plans for its development.
Summarize the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and make comparisons where relevant.
There are two maps which show the center of a town called Islip; one representing its features now, and the other depicting a proposed development.
Overall, the whole center is expected to be encircled by a dual carriageway, within which new housing and facilities will be built.
Islip town center is currently a combination of shops separated by the Main road at the north of the region. To the south of the shops are housing areas towards the south of the map. Also, there are two ways on either side of the Main road (towards the ends of the shops) which go southwards to two facilities: a park on the right and a school on the left.
By comparison, in the planned development, apart from a school and housing at the south, all the facilities are going to be encompassed by a dual carriageway. The area within is bound to be split by the existing row of shops across the center in the middle. At the north of the shops is a path dedicated to pedestrians, next to which are (from west to east) new facilities including a bus station, a big shopping centre, and a car park. To the right of the car park, there is also going to be a new housing area attached to the carriageway. Also, the current park will be made smaller in the development so that a new hosing facility will be constructed beside it.
