Please check my sentence

(Jim was staggering down the aisle when he fell, then...)

Jim gets back to his feet and staggers on, disappearing down the aisle toward the front of the plane.

Question:

Is the sentence written and constructed in a natural way? My main concern is if I can write "staggers on", is that okay in this context?
