the bar chart below shows the percentage of unemployed graduates, aged 20-24, in one European country over a two-year period.

Summarise the information by selecting and reporting the main features, and making comparisons where relevant.

The provided bar chart tracks changes in the graduate unemployment level among young people from 20 to 24 in an European nation over a period of two years commencing from 2008, categorized by gender.

It is clearly observed that the rate of unemployed male graduates was noticeably higher than their counterparts. Besides, although the unemployment level for both genders experienced a period of slight fluctuations, the overall trend was upbeat.

Specifically, starting from as low as merely 10% from the outset, male unemployment rate experienced a slight decline and remained at that constant level before reaching a peak of roughly 15% by October 08. Similarly but less strikingly, the figure for female counterparts was also subjected to a descending tendency, averaged out at around 10% at the end of 2008.

From that onwards, the unemployment rate for male persisted in the descending trend before reaching the highest figure ever recorded in the bar chart one year later, registering at roughly 22%. In the meantime, the corresponding figure for female counterparts expanded to a varying degree before levelling off at only around 15% at the end of the surveyed time frame.
